【摘要】 霍桑的《红字》与凯特.肖邦的《觉醒》,从简单意义上说,都讲述了婚外恋的故事。故事中处于第三者位置的男主人公丁梅斯代尔和罗伯特具有一些相似之处,同时又有着一定的不同。本文试从他们之间的相似之处出发找到两者的可比性,然后对比他们的不同点及其原因。本文主要从意识形态角度分析他们的不同点以及由此导致的悲剧的差别。
【英文摘要】 The Scarlet Letter of Hawthorne and The Awakening of Kate Chopin,simply speaking,both tell the stories of extramarital love.The heroes Dimmestale and Robert who are the third parties in the stories have some similarities and some differences as well.This paper tried to find the comparing possibilities based on their similarities,and then compared their different points and the reasons.This paper compared their differences from ideology perspective and the differences of tragedy caused by them.
